Am I the only one watching this regularly?
Since Evan Davis walked and Emily Maitlis was given the top job, it seems to have acquired an energy not seen since Paxo's peak. Maitlis is great, and you feel in safe hands with her and with Kirsty Wark (who I hope sticks around for another few years).
And the format works - especially the in-studio discussions, where it appears that anyone asked will show up.

I’ve been watching it all year - I only get my oldest kid (almost 4) to sleep about half past nine, so I’m normally too tired to watch anything other than the 10 o’clock news then this. It’s had some startling moments and a fairly compelling rolling cast of minor heroes and bullshitting gargoyles. Not to mention the high drama of Brexit, the implosion of the main political parties, Trump and the rise of the far right, etc, to get its teeth into. And Maitlis is just so much better at the hard edge interview than Davis ever was. Could have done without the ukulele travelogue and seeing that slack jawed cretin Gillespie last week, but you can’t have it all.

Emma Barnett is a terrific addition to the team as well. She's very good indeed.

Maybe a bit too pushy sometimes - Maitlis is the same. You've got to give them time to answer, and often by doing so they dig their own holes. Kirsty Wark gets the balance right.

Bastani is an idiot.
But he is on the right path here - Maitlis represents a jumped up arrogant London media elite who just think they know better.
It strikes me that the BBC is on the decline. Fewer and fewer people watch it and with that, they will start to question the licence fee more and more.

Kirsty Wark's leaving the show after the next GE - which is about a year off, so there's still time. But they announced it last night as it marked her thirtieth year presenting.
I really like her and I'll miss her on the show.
She was a total babe back in the day, too.
