Two cute and reasonably done tracks that don't come within miles of any emotional attachment for me. I suppose I prefer A's competent Beck imitation to B's studio rat paint-by-numbers drawing.

I'm surprised Chuck Prophet snuck in here, and he was doing this kinda thing long before Beck, for what's it worth, but I don't like B berry, berry much.

Both suffer from a contrived lead vocal that thickly piles on the "atmosphere" with a trowel. B came together more effectively for me and I quite enjoyed its 80s retroisms. It was much better when Mr Laryngitis shut up.

A is really bad.
I don't mind B and recognise it from Drive. A Real Hero would have been the better choice though.

Ick, what the hell is going on here. Is Barry White having a breakdown? ... No, it's hit full on MTV territory now. Bran van 3000 come back, all is forgiven.
Ooh, vaporwave! We've finally left the 60s behind for a while and are risking some new-fangled synthesizer music. Which harks back to the 80s. It's not very good, though that male backing vocal occasionally reminds me of Reigns. It's all a bit clunky, and a bit adverty, but that's normally the point with this stuff. It's better than A though, innit.

I wanted both tracks to finish at about half the time. I found A marginally better.

That beeping noise reminds me of a garbage track backing up... This is the guy from Green on Red, right? I'm not enamoured of his sprechtstimme delivery here, but I find the smacked out backing vaguely beguiling. No trees uprooted, but I'm not sure what some of you are hating about this. 4.5 / 10
Oooh, that opening riff sounds very familiar. That's going to nag me throughout. When vocals are distorted like that, you can only imagine they're there for emotional texture rather than meaning, and if so, it's not a particularly pleasant one. The tenor is much more amenable. These two tracks are very similar, basically, both ploddy, with odd indecipherable vocl styles and vaguely interesting noises in the mix, bvut that treated vocal and borrowed riff/tune are counting against this one a bit more. 4 / 10
