Like with the Cale track, Eno would have easily won in other draws, but must go with Mary...Vote B

A is undeniably brilliant, and something from that album (probably not that) was on my short list at one point.
I just don't get the point of B, it's great that it's new and perky and not overproduced, but I'm simply not hearing anything that makes it special. And being that we're in the finals, with the whole history of music to deal with, unless there's some kind of tokenism involved...or somebody knows the singer...something.

I really have no idea why somebody would something so banal and average. B makes me question the posters entire life, never mind their music taste.
A would win against most picks, especially because I'd be happy for this to be my funeral song....or....if I can time it right, the song to play when I pass over to THE OTHER SIDE. I think it's magnificent.
Sort your life out B. Christ.

I think this is a weak Eno track. A barely there, not very interesting piano piece which then gets enveloped in a cluttered production. I know people tend to bestow everything he does as touched by genius on here, but this is a misfire.
B is an odd and not very good pick. I guess it was an attempt to inject a more straightforward pop sensibility into the competition, which I applaud, this though is very run of the mill and sounds like a billion other things. Still the crunchy riff is better than anything on the Eno record.

Here Come The Warm Jets is a real classic, one of the finest non-mainstream pop albums ever released, and this is a stunning track. And in fact I would say there's actual genius there even if you hadn't used the word! B THO' just fizzes along and its lack of try-hard postmodern avoid-o-tune bollocks is what I like about it. It's a blast, and because it's going for the 'obvious' (which isn't really true, but anyway) paradoxically it sounds like nothing else

B is great fun, I agree, and it raises no quesion for me at all about somebody picking it for the finals, I've seen worse. But A is otherworldly.

B makes me smile; it's very much up my strasse, and the kind of thing i like to get behind. Unfortunately for it, i just love A more. The build is beautiful, and the last section is like heaven.

I guess I've got a bit of a reputation as an Eno naysayer, largely because I think his production aesthetic absolutely kills some things stone dead. That tinny echo on the vocals and snare, that synth frothing over the top of everything, as he mumbles over a bit of light jazz piano. Music for the test-card.
What happened to The Sweet? I mean, changing gender wasn't too much of a surprise, but you think they'd look a bit older. Poor round, but as it's the final I shan't abstain, and I shan't vote for Eno.
