I'm all for subtlety in comedy, and neither of these have it. The problem with A is that the pay-off can only be one thing, it's too obvious, and that kid is just annoying.
I'm going to do the already traditional "not the best clip to choose" comment now, though I'm sure you could pick any moment from Airplane, and it would be pretty damned good, and better than this bit. I did like the trombone though. And the old woman at the beginning and end.

Not the clip I would have chosen (The kid with Kareem might have been my choice) but easy Vote for B

So the best two clips of the whole fucking competition get drawn together? is THAT it?
Seriously - these are both excellent examples of seriously funny shit.
Top-rank Curb clip. What I've always liked about the show is the fact that Larry David clearly enjoys populating the show with these ridiculous characters for him to react to. This is a prime example. The kid is barely believable, close to caricature, but it doesn't matter - it's an impeccable performance, and really funny. The shot of LD drawing Hitler stuff on the picture alone is priceless. Everybody's having fun. It's absurd and it's infectious.
I'm not a HUGE fan of Airplane but when I watched it again a few years ago that scene had me on the floor. It's so rich with silliness, a perfect example of that KRA-ZEEEE! US strand that reaches from the Marx Brothers through Hellzapoppin and MAD magazine. And so much warmer than our surrealist comedy, somehow.
I think I'm going to give it to Larry, but it's really close. Whoever's responsible for these choices knows their comedy from their cobblers. Thank you.

A is a bit cringe-worthy, but also funny. The humor in that show is pretty self-deprecating, and I think that's a good example.
Almost every scene in Airplane is laugh-out-loud funny. You almost have to be searching for something that falls flat. B did a good job of it.

2 excellwnt choices. I'm going with B for being both a classic and something that still makes me laugh. I hope we get some Police Squad too.

I have good memories of Airplane but this extract wasn't as funny as I remembered in my head. It was a little telegraphed and laid on a bit thickly. Still one of the best selections though in a disappointing round.
I think the kid in A is great, just pitch perfect, even the way he says " fashioooon" makes me laugh and that line "Larry taught me how to make a swastika" makes me laugh like few other things.

I love Larry, but it didn't make me laugh. At least B got a smile out of me when he said the place was "worse than Detroit".

Larry David, great writer, OK stand-up, useless performer. I started watching Curb with enthusiasm, because of Seinfeld, and hoping for George, but Larry can't make it work like Jason Alexander could. I don't really like his schtick. And Airplane is a wonderful movie, the visual equivalent of 1950s Mad Magazine. It doesn't mater where you slice it, it'll be crammed with yocks, of at least smiles of recognition if you've sen it often enough
So B
