B may not be lol funny, but it's a great deadpan performance by Murray and it's a brand of "escalating absurdity" that I generally appreciate.
The casual format of A is not without charm, and Pilkington is also amusingly expressionless. If not for that smug cunt giggling inanely through it...

I really like Karl but I've come across much better clips than this. It had the potential to be funny had Gervais allowed Pilkington to give his opinions on gay lifestyle, but, as he is want to do, he lead him down another path which wasn't that funny. That said, I did chuckle at Carl's attempt at a camp "hellooo" which just sounded the same as his normal voice. I didn't like LiT that much for a whole variety of reasons. However it did have a few funny scenes, this, though, wasn't one of them. The problem is the women's behaviour doesn't really make any sense so it just comes over as very contrived and, like the film generally, is over-reliant on "oooh aren't the Japanese weird".

I think Karl Pilkington is an absolute gem, one of the most naturally funny men ever to be seen on the small screen. This shows off all his comic characteristics, and although I agree with what G said about Gervais, I think he helps ramp up the funny here very effectively, and KP plays along willingly.
I quite enjoyed Lost In Translation, but didn't get a whole lot of laughs from it, and certainly not from this. Like the Coogan clip from the earlier match, it's a reflection on character, on solitude, on frustration, and there's more melancholy than humour.
Very easily A

The one thing I will say about B is that LIT does get the Japanese way of life, their eccentricities, the cultural similarities and differences with the Western world, bang on. After living in Japan for a while you see them so vividly.

I've always avoided Karl Pilkingto, because I presumed I'd hate him. And I haven't seen anything here that changed my mind. Starts off where I was just wondering if he was going to down an offensive avenue (oo-er missus), but in the end just trails off to nothing.
And I loved Lost in Translation, but never thought of it as a funny film. Here, I thought it was only funny when I made the mistake of thinking she was saying "lip" instead of "lick" or "kiss", it just feels like razy lacism, which just goes odd.
Abstain.

A Can't stand Ricky Gervais at any price, so have not been exposed to Karl Pilkington at all. I did listen - couldn't bear to watch, as I'd be obsessed with punching RG in the face – and found it completely unfunny and pointless. Ricky Gervais really is a horribly punchable cunt.
B Never saw the movie, definitely after my time as far as flicks are concerned. Judging by this, wise choice. As Fish says, it seems that the only 'joke' is that the Japanese have difficulty sometimes with pronouncing l and r the same way as westerners do. Still, it only had to turn up to win this, because, unfunny as it is, it doesn't fill me with rage.
