I Feel Fine is one of those Beatles tracks that feels like a game changer, taking them, as it does, from the slightly gauche innocence of Beatlemania to the sharper, rockier pleasures of the mid period. There's a lot less to it than many Beatles tracks, but everything that is there works: from the ringing, circular riff, to its fantastic momentum ( it fair races along) to one of Lennon's classic satiated vocals ( sounding like a man who has just had the most exceptional five course meal or spent all afternoon in an orgy with ten beautiful models, take your pick).
The BB's is fine, but not one of their most memorable efforts.

Yeah, the Fabs pretty easily here for me. The sound of it is still extraordinary; no offence to 'GDTM' which is very enjoyable, but doesn't quite reach those levels.
Every so often i listen to Bobby Parker's 'Watch Your Step' and then 'I Feel Fine' back-to-back half a dozen times; try it, it's good for the soul.
