Obscure even by Adam's standards. I've heard of five. Cheers anyway Skopey!

sad to learn that gerald sinstadt died on the day of the quiz. what a strange coincidence.
he probably wouldn't have been best pleased to have been confused with david vine.
i used to love his commentating on the big match.
RIP gerald.

RIP gerald. Oh, was unaware. Another part of our youth gone. Shame on G for thinking it was David vine, he deserved better than that.

He was a familiar voice on the microphone, but I don't remember him being in front of the camera. Probably before my time.

Er...thanks . The lost years of Terry Neill. I certainly remember Sinstadt as a commentator, but he wasn't in front of the camera then (at least not in my recollection) so I never knew what he looked like.

of course, brian moore was the king of commentators. i would always watch itv's coverage of the fa cup final. likewise, i always preferred the big match to match of the day. the two o'clock on sunday afternoon scheduling brightened up what was usually a boring day, and they tended to have more interesting guests.

Brian Moore had lunch at the table next to me at villa park. He was running through the teams written on a piece of A4. Sir Matt Busby and Bobby Charlton were behind me.
