I try and watch every game possible, which is a weird commitment because I always struggle to remember who won the last one, let alone did well in the group stages.
It's actually England's year. Mark my words.

I'll be cheering for Canada since it's their first time at the event since '86. I doubt they'll go far, and I don't really back any other teams specifically, so I'll just wait to see who does well and cheer for them as long as it's not Brazil or Portugal.

Yes, only our second qualification. We didn't score a single goal in '86 either. Plus we're qualified automatically for 2026 as co-hosts. They actually have a good team this year as well. Should be fun to watch.
Back in 1982, I had the pleasure of working in the fruit & veg import business here. In that industry at that time, 90%+ of the workforce involved was of Italian extraction. With the tourney being in Spain, the games were broadcast from the start of our workday to the end of it. There were tv sets everywhere and hardly any work got done, understandably. With Italy going on to win it, there was a hell of a party going on the whole time let me tell you..

Mark my words. Pretty much do and feel the same. I am shitting myself already at the thought of an England triumph.

Good draw for England. If we can qualify it would be a great draw for us.

Good draw for England. If we can qualify it would be a great draw for us. Don't get your hopes up Dougie. You have no chance against the mighty Welsh.

Difficult to make predictions this far out but I am looking forward to the Ukraine/Scotland qualifier which still appears to be set for some time in June.

Scotland v. Ukraine today, finally. It's unfortunate these two teams have to play each other for a spot as I would love to see both in the WC. No favorite here, just hoping for a quality match.

I don't see any "favorites" in a group of death. I don't fancy england's chances under southgate as long as he's in charge. I just don't see it. I think he's punching above his weight so far.

I have a bad feeling about this.... It will be alright Dougie. This will be the night we turn it on, hump 'em 7-0 and everybody ends up hating us. I could deal with that. Ukraine are nothing special but of course they may be inspired to over perform. I just want to play Wales so we can CRUSH G's dreams.
