The original is hell's own shit but at least Billy was arsed enough to list 'em chronologically

Both this record and the Billy Joel one should have added themselves to the list of historic atrocities.

just because we were talking about it not too long ago (I don't think it's terrible, but I do think he's got it all wrong - it's completely typical of the man's dead-hand approach these days)

Appearing in a John Lewis advert soon....
40 something 90s kid in a living room by himself. Looking serious, reflective, a little bit sad ken? Maybe staring out a window or playing around with a TV remote. Probably thinking about "the toxic masculinity". Young girl enters room, clearly his daughter and senses something is off. Comforts the old man who smiles appreciatively but he's still a bit sad so she runs off and tells Mother there's something wrong with Daddy. Mother goes online, buys male grooming kit from John Lewis.
Nice looking black fella from John Lewis delivers gift a couple days later to the father who opens it and reads the attached note, "we see you and we appreciate you x". A smile breaks across his face and a tear appears in the corner of his eye.
Fade to black. John Lewis.

What is it? Live (on Jools Holland's show) performance of Live Forever by Noel Gallagher

Although I reckon the song would be a mournful, though tender, acoustic female sung version of "Life's What You Make It".

Ooh, the America/done ta ya rhyme is the money shot.
Musically it's pretty typical, really, and it's lighter on the 'wispy voice' than a lot of female vocals these days, but that's pretty dumb.
"Puff Puff Give" still keeps the crown, mind you.

I love Colbert's show, but his musical guests (bar the occasional '60s/'70s veteran) are consistently hideous. And half the time I know exactly what they're going to sound like before they've opened their mouths.

I'm not sure I have words for this.
In fact I'm not even sure how I feel about it - but it's definitely not good.

It's a Morrissey cover, if you didn't know.
