When you get an old couple running a small cafe, do you think it's best that the woman serves the guests and the fella does all the 'unseen' work (preparing food, orders, accounting) - or the other way around?

I have no preference. I have already begun a form of trust by choosing their establishment to satisfy my needs. It is then subconsciously assumed by myself that the current dynamic has been proven to be the most successful.

I would see them as a team. All parts need doing and the team gets it done.

Dear Jimmy, is there really a Santa Claus?

Dear Jimmy, is there really a Santa Claus? There is a santa claws for cats and a santa paws for dogs. Mammals are generally unaware of x-mas. The sudden increase of young orphaned turkeys confuses them. Remember, it really is better to receive, it counteracts the guilt concerning how little you gave.

Is Glasgow the best British city?

Is Glasgow the best British city? As a city centre it has much to enjoy. As a community , despite its reputation , much kindness and camaraderie are to be found. Glasgow has a community feel, sadly lacking in most u.k. cities. I know many English folk are surprised by it. The banter may not find favour at first. It is often personal and lacking filters. I naturally consider Aberdeen to be the jewel in the crown in Scotland. I have not been back for many years now. The fairly new City of Brighton & Hove is also a favourite.

Is Glasgow the best British city? Yes. Manchester runs it close, however.

I loved the three or four days I spent in Glasgow, the people had great warmth. I don't remember much though as i spent most of my time doing 'hot knives' in a high-rise! Must go back one day. Used to love Brighton too, back when it used to have character and a genuine counter-cultural edge. Now it's just a place for rich twats and is far too self-consciously in love with its 'fashionable' image.

Jimmy - what are your favourite PIES? (of any kind, from anywhere) As a child my mum would make bacon and egg pie.I don't know if it is a thing now. In Greece the pie is as revered as it is in the U.K. most visitors snaffle cheese pies. I prefer spinach pies ( spanakopita). A pork pie is also one of my great loves, mush and full of unmentionables it may be. It is a much missed favourite. It is tradition in Scotland to have steak pie on new year's day, couple that with a few malt whiskies and i am in paradise. The extra day for new year that is given north of the border is there solely to aid recovery, pushed to choose ? Steak pie it is.

Matt Wilson had a little spat with Adam. It was all about the Pretty things, of all things. Apart from that, rather quiet. Ray pops in, G also. Goatboy watches as do two others. Dante and I contribute occasionally. It is a grand old place, full of music and occasional gossip.

That BCB lasted as long as it did with all 'on board' is, well not quite a MIRACLE but something to marvel at
My very best to Adam, J. I tried to log on again but there's too much bullshit with passwords and the likes.
