Still a hugely entertaining and charismatic man, in his element just talking, it seems. I could listen to those Salford tones telling those stories for, ooh, at least my whole lunch break. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000701xGarnet Mimms & The Enchanters - A Quiet Place Jerry Lee Lewis - Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On Dion & The Belmonts - I Wonder Why Ella Fitzgerald - Skylark Nico - I'll Keep It With Mine Frank Sinatra - Moonlight In Vermont Doris Day - The Black Hills Of Dakota Elvis Presley - How Great Thou Art

I was little underwhelmed by his music choices. The Elvis track, which he would save, being especially poor. His book and luxury item were more up my street

By the way, i did think about you when i listened to it this morning on my run and thought about starting a thread when i got back. I decided against it because i thought it would be too inconsequential.

Yeah, she’s not great. I thought young was excellent and i was sorry to see her go. I think laverne is trying to tap too much into the young magic and comes across as a poor imitation.

Great choice on the Huysmans book too.

Get to see him live if you can - he's playing some UK dates later in the year. He's way funnier than any current stand-up, easily as good as Connolly. And between the poetry (which is mostly excellent) there's a lot of unscripted stuff. It's a great night out.

How many albums does one get to pick only 7-8? Or not even albums, just songs?
