Replacing Husker Du with Supertramp would bring more sense to the poll.

Totally non-plused by Hüsker Dü (I did try). Mostly uninterested by the Carpenters (I enjoyed the short jazzy thing above - but it's rather atypical, no? And I love Superstar, but that's Leon Russell's doing, not theirs). I like Telegraph Road and some other tracks from Dire Strait's 3rd and 4th album alright.
The abominable Hadley and Spandau Ballet then.

Replacing Husker Du with Supertramp would bring more sense to the poll. What's so wrong with Supertramp?

Replacing Husker Du with Supertramp would bring more sense to the poll. What's so wrong with Supertramp? Well, not much of you're in for soulless soft rock with a calculated prog touch and an annoying singer.

He's got you there, G! And yet 'Goodbye Stranger' is better than any Husker Du track.

Did you have a bad incident in childhood involving this board game?

Of these bands? Spandau Ballet. I like Tony Hadley's voice, I just don't think they were that musically creartive.
And I like True a lot.

I don't find any of these groups ABSOLUTELY awful. If i had to rank them, today it would be...
HD - Made a handful of albums i love dearly; plus, get significant points for the music Mould and Hart have brought into my life in other musical settings.
Carpenters - Their singles are incredible, despite their ubiquity at times. I would never be without a good comp. of their music.
DS - For me it's really all about the killer first album, which is incredibly special in its way for mine. They had another bunch of singles i love/like after but diminishing results for me.
SB - A handful of songs i love still, but the least of the lot here. 'Chant No.1', 'Cut a Long Story Short' and 'Communication' are all fine pop-dance songs that bring back good memories.

Mark Knopfler is about to appear on BBC Breakfast any second now. Take that as a warning.

He looks like Kissinger now. I hope he's still wearing his headband, that'd be hilarious.
