I came to FE's music later, and while i've liked some songs i've heard they've never really grabbed me. Both are decent tunes, but B is new to me and i like it enough for the vote here.

Without the strings and backing vocals I could easily imagine the first tune being sung by Captain Beefheart c. 'Clear Spot'. It's kinda fun but I'm not entirely convinced it's great.
B sounds pretty much like I expected - droney and stoney. It's okay, too, but there's not much to grab onto.
I'll go for...

A elicits conflicting emotions in me. First I want to hug it, then I want to batter it.
I'm not sure if I've heard B before but I quite like it anyway.

Good tie!
I like the Fire Engines and their weird mixture of dinky toy sounds and abrasive edge. There's something in that contrast that recalls the original psychedelic era. This is their most "pop" moment and I think I myself once used it in a BCB Cup.
I'm going to vote B here though as it's new to me and I really liked it. Spacey, loose and groovy.

A - Oh, I always liked this - their best track arguably, certainly their best single. They were the best of the Fast mob, and arguably better than any of the Postcard guys. Cheery and sexy rather than their usual abrasive style, with the little string (synth?) interludes and la-las upping the hooligan charm quotient. 5 / 10 B - First time hearing of this. Surprised to find from earlier comments that this guy was connected with Spacemen 3. Was he the fourth member of the group? 30 seconds of wibbling at the start is not a great introduction. Oh, it's not real psychedelia, just a retread of the British whimsy sound. Two hundred trips and I never felt remotely like this. Bit slow, too. No song, and far, far, too Bea*ley. 4 / 10
