I love gospel music, but A was good.

Both get by on 'feel' more than anything else, I'd say. They're both pretty good but I can't say I'm jumping up and down with my cock out

A was ok until the horns kicked in...While gospel is most certainly not my thing, the music was interesting enough for the nod...Vote B

A was very good until the horns kicked in, then it became brilliant. The playing on Donovan records of this period is fantastic and they always so sounded so wonderful. Here the stars are Clem Cattini and ( probably) Harold McNair. This has a real intoxicating vibe. B has an amazing sound too, dripping in southern gothic hellfire atmosphere. It's a shame one has to lose, but A is more my world.

i came to this round fully expecting to vote for the don, but i didn't dig it as much as i thought i would.
B is new to me and caught my attention with its hypnotic guitar. i salute the poster who chose this for keeping with the spirit of the cup.

Love the double-bass and jazzy horn of A, it's a more interesting track than I expected from Donovan's usual folktastic hippie stylings. Has a really gritty woozy vibe, and a vague musty smell of damp paper. Which in this case is a good thing.
Gospel ain't my thing, you may be surprised to hear. I do like the amount of echo dropping off that guitar though, and the vocals become more and more alluring as it develops. You almost expect The Cramps to have covered it, or to join in at any minute. Difficult tie this, I shall have to return. Good picks both.

They're both pretty good but I can't say I'm jumping up and down with my cock out AA because I AM jumping up and down with my cock out. the other is VERY good but I think I liked it better because my cock was already out by the time I heard it. ill certainly check out that comp.

Unfussed by A and Donovan in general. B is excellent. It's probably helped by that reverb and poor quality but it's massively atmospheric and evocative. I'm reminded of True Detective.

And A has just nicked it for me in terms of musty jazzy atmosphere being more my kinda bag.

Oh man, wonderful match. Both excellent choices that punch my buttons; maybe just A for the overall tune and arrangement. With apologies to B...

The laid back beatnik groove of that period of Donovan is truly awesome - the live album from that period is wonderful - but this is not one of his better songs. Like A in the previous, it sounds wonderful, but there's not much song there.
B is entrancing and glorious. So much better than last round's pick, and quite possibly my favorite discovery so far.
