A was new to me. kudos for an original pick. however, it never really takes off (pardon the pun). i kept waiting for the killer chorus but it never happened.
i'm very familiar with B and it's always nice to see a blues track in the cup. it's bordering on the bleedin' obvious, but falls just on the right side to get my vote.
B for chester.

I agree with Adam ultimately on A, it ran out of ideas pretty quickly. Still I enjoyed the opening minute or so with those cascading guitar lines. You can't be cruel about a track like B can you? It has to be venerated like some old Lord of the stage. For me it's a safe, predictable pick and it ain't lighting my fire.

Ah, good 'ol "quirky independent pop." I like the basic groove and spirit of A, but that constant echoed line is a bit distracting and annoying. If the hooks were just a bit bolder than the repetition, he might be a poor man's Matthew Sweet. I would listen to more by him, but only because I assume he's got better songs than this.
B does skirt the "hatz law" of being a bit obvious, but is saved by being a bit of a rarity here. Wolf is obviously respected and loved here, but not talked about enough. As much as it pains me to vote for his most obvious track - seriously, almost anything else and I would've had no such dilemma - the relative quality is too obvious to deny.

Hard to beat Howlin' Wolf, or Ben E. King

A isn't bad, but it's just a touch too 'bedroom rock' for me, and the guy needs to tone down the delay. It's too bad he couldn't get an actual band together to record it, 'cause then it might've stood a chance.
Nothing really needs to be said about B, other than it wins this round.

A hint of Vini Reilly about that guitar delay. Pity the pretty guitar stops for the singy bit, but it's got a nice tinge of atmosphere about it. Reaching for the sky, but only from the concrete balcony of his dingy council flat. I'm not sure it does an awful lot, but it's growing on me as it plays, there's a bit of confidence in allowing all that space. The synth has dated a bit badly, but there's definitely something about this track. It has me intrigued, it doesn't feel fully successful, but it has an edge of something.
I can't stand electric blues, it bores me senseless. Just all seems about sitting within its own self-imposed restrictions, never being allowed to breathe. Good voice, it has to be said. I just can't imagine a time I'd want to listen to this. I get really sick of hearing him say "spoon", too.

I have to hold back on saying 'disgraceful' and 'cunts' etc. now, so I'll just say that A sounds like it was found in the rubbish bin. Possibly by a lovely person! but it's still refuse
A lot of blues leaves me cold, but Howlin' Wolf doing 'Spoonful' beats nearly everything. I mean for fuck's sake

I quite like the guitars in A! The tune doesn't really develop much but it has nice sound. B has pretty much everything though, from the song to the vocals and playing.

Yes, A is repetitive, but I like it.

For a moment at the beginning I was scared A would turn out to be a second-rate sophisti-pop act alla Double, but while there's hints of a similar intent there's also an outsider quality to it that lends it a fair bit of charm. B is obviously the far superior track and a deserved classic, but I also feel it's a bit obvious as a pick. And it's gonna win anyways. So I'll go with A this time.

I did not dislike A and was ready to vote for it. But then I played B, and even me being no old time blues fan, its greatness is undeniable.

A never really goes anywhere, but it's a pleasant enough amble and I'm feeling it a bit more than B at the moment, so Vote A
