another garbage tie. i thought i might be swayed by the cheesiness of the rock steady crew but it just sounds terrible now, like an old kids tv show which was good at the time but awful in hindsight. as for B, i'm not going to waste another 8 minutes after being subjected to the utter shite of the first 2.

Brooklyn vs. The Boogie Down...The Strafe track is more interesting and unique musically, so vote B

I love B. It's a great tune to comedown to.

A always impressed for its naïve teenage goofiness, it's difficult not to be charmed by the sheer bushy tailed nature of it all. I have heard it once too often though so I wasn't exactly blown away by it as a pick.
B is very pared down 80s electro. I don't remember it from the time. It's fine, but doesn't seem to develop much beyond the rhythm track.

I was ready to pick the Rocksteady Crew by pure reflex action, but decided to give B a chance.

Music that's actually dependent on dance for its connectivity is never going to be in my wheelhouse, and these are both pretty repetitive and dull. But A is the kind of DUI hit that doesn't seem to happen any more. I'm happy for the participants, not that it makes me anxious to actually listen or anything. B is dreary and endless.

A track that was almost inescapable at one time, yet is almost entirely forgotten now, it's kinda interesting on that point alone. You can see why it was a hit, but also see why it's been discarded from the public consciousness. The chorus is actually a piece of light pop genius, those synth stabs and the charming amateurism of the performance, it's majestic. But the rest of the track is a bit lumpen and has no hidden secrets to uncover, it's just something that happens why you wait for her to start singing "Hey you, The Rocksteady Crew" again.
B's new to me, and seems quite interesting. Has that sparseness that you get with the cheap early 80s dance-based stuff, but it doesn't have the clunkiness that most of this type of thing suffers from. I keep expecting it to break into the theme from Knightrider, too. Nine minutes seems like it's dragging itself out too long, but I guess that's what you get with the 12" scene. Very "metal on metal" that hollow shuffling rhythm, isn't it? Trying out all the synth presets now, I guess once he'd finished with the song, he might as well piss about given he's forked out for the studio time. Could do with less of the hand-clap thing though.
Good tie this one. B has it in the bag.

Interesting match-up!
A gets me because of that rinky-dink in-your-face descending synth motif. It could only have come out of the 80s, nobody would have the balls today. Happy and glorious. I agree with some of what D_F says but don't share his reservations - it's one hell of a pop song overall, actually, and I'd say it defines 'irresistible'. Sadly it seems that some ARE resisting...
B is Toby territory, isn't it? and it sounds really good right now.
I have to give it to
A

Interesting tie. I can't say I'm a big fan of A, but there is a flash-in-the-pan appeal to it and I quite like the synth stabs through it. B's pretty damn cool though.

Good match. B is certainly appealing in its way, but A still sounds better.

Just when I was starting to get bored about B and wondering about why should it last 9+ minutes, the most interesting part started, to the point to make me change my vote. Sorry A, but

B by virtue of not being the Rock Steady Crew.
