St. Pauls, 1955 Apart from the absence of people (suggesting an early morning at the weekend) and road traffic, what strikes me about that picture is the lack of street furniture, signs, bollards, billboards, posters and shopfronts in Ludgate Hill. I've tried, without luck, to find an image of the same spot today for comparison.
