That looks like High Holborn. It isn't though – the Baker Street sign is a bit of a giveaway . I think it's the junction of Baker Street and Marylebone Road, looking West: probably taken from opposite Baker Street tube station. [EDIT] I just checked it with Google street view, and I'm right. I'm more interested in the bus: at first glance I thought it was a repurposed prototype AEC Routemaster from the 1950s – looks like the company badge and grill - but the license plate is wrong and so is the top deck configuration, more like the ones used in Bristol in the 1970s... I'll get my anorak.

Sonora is one of the larger towns on Hwy 49, named after the Goldrush year. I've been through it and stopped there many times. It intersects 49 and Hwy 108, which takes you to the mountains with lots of lakes and cabins.
