I heard "Who Killed Bambi" the other day (it's used in Curtis' latest doc), don't think I'd ever heard it before. It was as rubbish as I expected.

If you don’t agree with Adam that they’re the most exciting group, then WHO IS?

If you don’t agree with Adam that they’re the most exciting group, then WHO IS? Off the top of my head? The Stooges, Howlin’ Wolf’s band (any of them), the MC5 (Have you seen the documentary? An insanely great live band even only on film), countless jazz bands, Little Richard & the Upsetters, Huey Smith & the Clowns, Television. Christ, there are dozens. And most of them put out more than just a handful of good to great singles.

The Pistols had a cultural impact and thrill that few can match.
I get why they might be the most exciting to some.

Live, I think the Pistols in 1976 would have left you reeling.

Live, I think the Pistols in 1976 would have left you reeling. In 1973, at age 16, I saw the Raw Power era Stooges around a dozen times. Since then I have been to thousands of shows. Nothing has ever had the same impact. Nothing was as visceral. Nothing ever made me want to go back over and over again. I’d love to have seen the 76 Pistols but I doubt they would have been better than those shows.
