sKope's fav Jimmy Campbell how the hell do you know that? it's true, i'm consumed by him. Since i buy the Vertigo Swirl Jimmy Campbell's to make chip bowls, i was told there was a lad Hadham way who was my main competitor in procurement.

I got my Association LP delivered the other day - with old LPs either side of it, presumably put there as protection. Strange.
Anyway along with the unwanted Salt N Pepa 12" I got my first Faron Young record. I'll give it a listen some time soon.

Somebody in the US just ordered a Donovan CD from me but the status on the order is still 'invoice sent'. Usually buyers place the order and then pay pretty much immediately. These people haven't.
Should I click on 'set payment pending' to prompt them to pay? The Discogs FAQ site says not to do this...

Some people don't pay immediately, in fact most of them.

just received my 1000th piece of feedback. Still 100% positive. Feeling fleetingly proud.

'You Made Me Realise' 12" going for around £150?!?!
My copy isn't exactly pristine but it's playable - might put it up there for a ton.

Don't copies need to be near mint though to attract that kind of price? Obviously the better the condition the higher the price you can ask, but it seems people are willing to pay good money as long as the thing's playable. It really depends. Absolute dickhead fucking me around over an order for a 2 CD Stereolab box. He's in the US and shipping showed up as '$0' for some reason, so he only transferred the price of the item and nothing more.
I've messaged him three times now to ask for the extra £3 (which I asked very politely for, and he initially agreed to - it's less than he should pay, but I thought it was fair because it was probably my fault he was misled) and he's either replied with 'OK! sounds good' or 'I have already transferred the money'.
I think I'll give it another day and then cancel the order and refund his money. I just hope he can't give me negative feedback if I do that.

He certainly can, and if you are right about his dickheadedness, he probably will. You could try explaining to him, in case he doesn't know, that he can pay a little bit more through PayPal without his being sent an invoice, and that you recognize it's your mistake, so are only asking for half the payment, but unless you were selling the record for such a low price you'd be making a loss on the postage – a large letter under 250g to the USA is just under £6 - I'd swallow the underpayment to keep the feedback ratings up - if you have fewer than 20 ratings, you'll go down below 95%, and that will put off loads of casual buyers. The main thing though is to repair your shipping policies so it doesn't happen again - I got caught out early on because some 10" have the same weight as a CD but of course have to go as parcels rather than large letters.
I have shut down until I can get both vaccinations and risk a trip to the Post Office, but I heard back from two buyers today, one of whom had a Mint and sealed CD that apparently skips, and another who bought an unplayed NM double album that plays perfectly on three sides and is distorted and muffled through a third (as the artist concerned is a certain PM who is not a favourite of mine I might see that as a blessing, but apparently the buyer doesn't. Both clear cases of mispresses, but it's no use getting on the Caveat Emptor high horse, so it's a full refund minus postage for CD guy and 50% of the record price for the Beatle fan.

The Stereolab dude was having some personal problems. We sorted it out in the end, he's been very friendly and gave me positive feedback.
BUT - I just got my first bit of negative feedback (after more than a year on Discogs). I don't honestly understand why. He ordered something, transferred the cash, and I asked him to pay extra for shipping. He said no, sorry, that was the price that was shown - so I apologised and refunded his money. Politely, promptly. Three days later he posts something about it all being unfair etc. etc. He didn't pay anything!

Anyway it looks like I MIGHT be getting a vinyl copy of Double Nickels after searching for YEARS. £19 on eBay, seller's in the UK. Might have to up my bid by a pound or two, but I'm willing to do that. The LPs are in good nick. You rarely see it for less than $50.
