I'll just say I don't get the appeal of stuff like A at all and leave it at that.
I'd be wary of anyone trying to convince me that B is revolutionary or challenging in any way, but two minutes of it is amiably goofy enough to satisfy. Not that it even has to do that in this case...

Not very interesting EDM against the all too "interesting" Residents. I'm finding both pretty unlistenable.
A for the insect noises.

Paavoharju are probably the greatest band from Finland, if not just anywhere, ever. Such a wilful throwing together of disparate styles, always patched together to make something really distinctive and unique. Here their wistful folky field recording stuff is wrapped up in a fractured dancefloor stomper with bells on. Those vocals are something else, too, just sheer beauty. I genuinely don't understand why they haven't sold more records than The Eagles.
I haven't hear Duck Stab in ages, because it's one of those tiny CD things, I don't quite trust them for some reason. Like I expect it will fall out mid-play, and tangle itself in the mechanical innards of the CD player. Ground to dust by diamond-toothed cogs or something. Anyway... It's a good match up, I like the kind of repetitive throb of this one, with the irritating waah waah weeh of the synth. A really odd pick for anyone expecting to win a tie, though I reckon it probably has a chance here. Just an atmosphere piece, isn't it, and a really odd atmosphere at that.

If I can't pronounce it, I can't pick it.

Not a million miles apart, these two, are they?
Not the Residents' tune I'd have gone for, but it still beats A, which frankly I cannot be arsed with right now

A is like the tune you'd get if you put an early-'80 Lime single through a Scandinavian music transmogrifier that was on the fritz. Baffling, and yet weirdly appealing at certain points. B is weird too, but in a Residents way i know and understand more, and for that less surprising somehow.

I genuinely don't understand why they haven't sold more records than The Eagles. Oh, thanks Dog, I was starting to be worried about agreeing with DF too many times. The world looks safer now after this sentence.
B just because it's shorter and I don't abstain.

I genuinely don't understand why they haven't sold more records than The Eagles. When I was in college, The Eagles Greatest Hits was everywhere. I couldn't understand why these college kids were so happy to adopt the musical taste of their parents, but after these two, I would happily down a Diet Coke, climb into my Dodge Ram pickup, and blare Take it Easy. A without much conviction.

The Eagles knew the score. Lookin for a lover who won't blow your cover ... well, they ARE hard to find.
