After a horror story of a year for my portfolio one of my major stakes has risen 185% in a matter of days and looks very healthy as it's a UK based oil and gas company. I bought shares at around 12p in 2019 and they're now about 65p. Last year they were 6p. My other major stake is down 75% so it's swings and roundabouts .
Learned a lot over the last couple of years; namely, don't keep a beady day-to-day eye on stocks unless you're a trader. Buy, forget and revisit once in a while to see trends.

Interest rates up, share value down. Right?
I've got shares in Santander (and so does G's mam!) - I think they're more likely to be OK.

Trying googling 'Santander share price', G! I did, but it wasn't that clear to me. Anyway they're hardly rocketing up..still less than what they were 4 years ago.

Why are they going up John?
It's because they posted their profits yesterday. They will undoubtedly fluctuate again with the interest announcement on mortgages.

They've been rising steadily for a few weeks now. The rate of increase grew sharply yesterday.
But yes, they're likely to wobble in future.
