I am always disappointed by France given how good some of their players are.

I didn't get Germany's tactics at all. The only player with any pace was Gnabry, wasted in the central striker role. They were crying out for some creativity down the wings, and took an age to make a change. By the time Sane and Werner came on, France were sat so deep that pace couldn't achieve anything.
They'll still probably beat us, if we play 'em in the next round.

Given the absolute levels of power, ability and experience they have, you'd think France would just destroy Germany.
But pragmatically, reserve your stamina for more important games and get the result. It makes sense, but by god it's just deathly dull.

You'd have to favour Portugal over Germany for second place, which frustratingly doesn't bode well for us. France are due credit though - they are outstanding in defence and it looks like actually scoring against them will be a feat in itself. Germany weren't terrible, but I'd agree with G's sentiment that they needed wholesale change with the coach after 2018's debacle.
Of the two though, I think I'd prefer us to play Portugal - Mbappe vs Maguire isn't a duel I'd be looking forward to.

after the first round, it's difficult to see past france, italy, belgium and England. i DO wonder if it's finally going to be belgium's tournament. lukaku looks to be in the form of his life. with regards England, i don't see them having any problems against either germany or portugal, i really don't.

I think Portugal are strong all over the pitch. They would deffo give England problems.
Germany less so.

must-win game for wales. i'm looking forward to it. i think the conditions and the venue will favour the turks, but i'll be willing the welsh on if only so that G can lord it up.

Magnificent result for Wales - I had them going home at the group stage.
Italy look good. 2-0 up and will probably play one of Russia or Denmark.
