Oh, A all the way. Proper writers, decent actors, a comic set-up. The Sopranos had its comic moments, but in that, and indeed in so many other ways, The Rockford Files was so much better.

David Chase, who created the Sopranos, was a writer on The Rockford Files, which was basically a comedy drama, while The Sopranos was a grim drama with occasional comic relief. I liked both shows a great deal, but The Rockford Files was funnier.
