Not really the scene I would have chosen for The Jerk...And would have gone with a Chappelle sketch rather than stand up....Vote A for being just a little more amusing...

A did nothing for me. I couldn't recognise any of the cultural or racial stereotypes that he was supposedly lampooning so it just fell flat. B's a bit too frantic and zany for me, but Steve Martin's physical comedy gifts at least made me smile.

Both rubbish but at least I could see what people MIGHT find funny there.
A
made me laugh just a little bit with the 'Sunny Delight'/black kid stuff at the end

If I had a dollar for every time I've been told that Chappelle and "The Jerk" are two of the funniest things ever...
On this evidence, not so much. B might be hilarious in the context of the film (which I've, somewhat amazingly given my age, never seen), but here it's yet another clip resting on non-included context.
A is a pretty well-worn subject for humor, but I guess the context is at least slightly fresh, which is enough here.

This is interesting because you see all the black folk laughing and none of the white folks at the joke. A good Jerk scene, but Chappelle wins it here.

I have literally no idea what Dave Chappelle is going on about, which is a shame, as he seems to know what he's doing up there. Has a lot of confidence, timing seems good, but he's just talking about grape juice.
The Jerk is a movie with some fantastic moments, and that's not the best. But I do like the ludicrous set up ("He hates these cans!"). My favourite bit is the bedtime speech "I know we've only known each other four weeks and three days, but to me it seems like nine weeks and five days. The first day seemed like a week and the second day seemed like five days. And the third day seemed ..." etc.
Anyway, it does enough here, because I still dunno what Dave is talking about.

Not Chappelle's best delivery - he seems to be milking it, or something... I've seen The Jerk many times and this may not be so funny anymore, but I have to vote for it in memory of my brother.

I watched the Jerk again a few weeks ago and was laughing out loud at many of the scenes. My favorite is when the motorcycle stunt driver is feeling Steve Martin's butt, and his job is guessing weights at the carnival. His response, "You're really trying to be accurate."
The joke with Chappelle is black folk drink lots of Kool-Aid and eschew healthier food options. He's done some funny bits on other food stereotypes too, like chicken and watermelon.

So who you voting for, sloop? I'm going B by the way. A spreads its 'joke' too thinly: I've never seen The Jerk, but the physical comedy is excellent in this clip.
