Yet again this odd rejection of one of life's greatest pleasures is in evidence over at TOP.
What possible problem could people have with lying in a large tub of hot soapy water at the end of the day? I'm fine with just that, but it can be accompanied by music, bubbles, candles, booze - or even someone else. It's a beautiful thing!
I get that some people don't have time, or they might not actually have a tub, but no! it seems that some people actually dislike the idea! Doesn't make any sense to me at all, that.
and no, you're not 'lying in your own dirt', 'cos the soap lifts it out and away and that's why you're left with a ring around the side

The experience is enjoyable but I like to finish with a shower, probably because when I bathe I wash my hair and I like to rinse it in clean water.
Is it a Muslim thing or a Middle Eastern thing .. but don't they have a thing about bathing in running water? For cleanliness reasons. I had a Persian friend tell me that once.

We didn't have a shower in our house until I was 12 or 13. Before then, it was only baths. I've never gone back.
Except when the kids were small and I had to give them baths. But that's as close as I got.
On Sunday afternoons, my dad use to take a bath and read suspense novels. He'd stay in for hours. It was not a pretty sight. We only had one bathroom and I'd keep my eyes averted if I had to take a piss.

I don't have baths much, mostly because ours is a bit too small for me, but I love the whole Bathing culture thing of Turkey, Morocco and Japan. Of course, you can have Spas and Saunas here, but they aren't hugely common in the same way.
I studied Roman baths for a year for my degree and they were utterly fascinating. Essentially, in the Roman empire everyone worked until noon and then fucked off down the baths for the rest of the day. That's what we should be doing.

I like baths well enough, and have been known to sit and read in one for an hour or more, but that was when I had a good sized bath, nothing like that in my current house: if I want my knees under water, more or less my entire torso is out of it. New house thought has two tubs (just like Handsome Dick), one of them with one of them Jack Ouzo things for that Here Come the Warm Jets experience, so I will reacquaint myself with said pleasure.

I remember taking baths as a child, but that ended when I was a teenager. I have two brothers, so a nice soak would have been greatly disrupted and not relaxing in the least.
As an adult, I lived in apartments and even my house where if you filled the tub, grey filth would rise from the drain. A few years back we had all of the plumbing redone, and the grey filth has disappeared. I just realized I can take a bath again! Thanks Preludin!

I find them quite relaxing, but...I also wouldn't necessarily want one after going to the gym.

I hate baths.
You can't control the heat without wasting loads of water and I end up overheating, most of them are shaped oddly and are uncomfortable, and you're just sitting in your own filth.
Showers ftw.

The concept of a bath is fine...in practical terms, never had one large enough to enjoy them...(I'm 6'4" and have never had a tub large enough to submerge properly in...)

If I had a jacuzzi/hot tub-type thing I'd be happy to jump into it once in a while, but not to actually wash myself. That's what showers are for.
