I like it a lot but don't really need it:

I'm happy to be out of that zone in all honesty. I've got all the bits I need such as a laptop and a phone etc. The only thing I'm perhaps interested in is a bit of audio kit such as a Ruark and that's about it. Let me know if you go for this, Toby. I'm considering it myself but it's one fuck of an expense.

I'm going for the Naim MuSo, or potentially the Kef wireless speakers. Probably the former. I thought about the Ruark but the Naim seems to be the best for the price and space.

I'd have nowhere to put the R7. The Naim trumps the Ruark in virtually all the reviews.

I splurged and bought some new gear with the money I've saved by not going to bars and restaurants for the past 4 months: a Cambridge Audio AXR100 receiver/amplifier and a pair of ELAC Reference DBR62 bookshelf speakers. The amplifier is great, but I'm not 100% sold on the speakers. I think I'll return them in exchange for something else.

Ruark R7
It's an all-in-one streamer so you can stream music digitally and play CDs. £2200 though.
I listened to one today - it's aesthetics over sound quality for me. The Naim has better sound.

The problem with these things is you need some sort of subscription to a streaming service really. They're expensive things to start with, then you're looking at a tenner a month on top of that for Spotify or whatever.

I'm really mad keen to get a grand piano for this new place. In fact I'm a bit obsessed by the idea and I don't really care about anything else. It's going to cost a few grand at least but I know for sure it'll get used a lot and it'll make me happy.

You don't NEED to - you could play CDs on a Ruark without any issue. You could also just play tunes off a memory stick if you wished as well.
But yes, they're called "streamers" for a reason. A Tidal subscription is £20, which is pretty good value considering that you're able to access hundreds of thousands of hi-resolution flac files. Qobuz is meant to be pretty good too and is cheaper.

Of course I'd take measurements etc. but yeah - not like sofas which can be assembled once the bits are in the room. Getting a grand piano through a doorway is one fuck of a job. And it's not like the deliverers are careful.

Trying to figure out if the cost of insurance is worth it and the radio's a bit dodgy.
