Patisserie Valerie in administration

Won't mean anything to non-UKers but there's a chain of cake shops that has just gone into administration.  They *used* to do the most gorgeous scrumptious lovely cakes but it has to be said that standards had been slipping for a few years.

They filled a spot on the high street for a time. I remember the Soho one in particular with cream-filled doughnuts.

I went into the TW branch a couple of years ago and their lunch was poor. At least where I am, artisanal and independent cafes are filling a gap that they want to occupy in the market.
