Perhaps they have made mistakes, although in leading a lavish lifestyle they are simply doing what every other royal has done since time immemorial, so there is a blatant hypocrisy in the press suddenly deciding that's a reason for attack. Are they really all that "" anyway? I'm sure her ethnicity and nationality have a lot more to do with this.

Are they really all that "" anyway? I'm sure her ethnicity and nationality have a lot more to do with this. They have cut back over the years, at least on the surface I think. Partly a post-Diana thing and also austerity too I suspect. Gotta be vaguely in line with us plebs! it's not hypocrisy to call 'em out when you have Harry doing this: www.theguardian.com/travel/2019/sep/03/prince-harry-launches-sustainable-travel-initiative-travalyst and then this.... www.thesun.co.uk/fabulous/10029356/prince-harry-meghan-markle-private-jet-google-climate-change/Like I said, I think they are on the receiving end of something bigger than them but you can understand why it would irk people. Years ago they would have got away with it but now the press sense something (a backlash) and are exploiting it I think. www.vogue.co.uk/article/meghan-markle-editors-letter-september-2019-issueWhat evolved over the next hour was a promising pow wow of two like-minded thinkers, who have much in common, including our love of writing. Over a steaming cup of mint tea, we teased through how one can shine light in a world filled with seemingly daily darkness. Lofty? Of course. Worth it? Without question.Ok, Meghan, you figure out how to shine that light. I mean, it's celebrity nonsense really and there are worse crimes but...she does read Chomsky apparently (she recommend one of his books in instagram or Twitter lol. I don't follow this shit but this story has piqued my interest.

Slightly off topic, but the "you can't be for action on climate change yet still fly places in planes" argument is some of the dumbest shit going around. People are entitled to participate in society whilst simulatenously wishing to improve it. Besides, not flying places in planes doesn't really stop the attacks as one teenage Swedish girl will attest to.
Back on topic, I say just let them do what they need to do. Meghan could cure every disease on the planet and Piers Morgan would still whinge like a bitch about her anyway, best to try and escape the world as far as they're able to. Obviously they can't just disappear.

For Harry to stand on stage banging on about climate change whilst him and the missus create a carbon footprint the size of a small country makes them hypocrites. Fly commercial flights instead. You may have slightly less leg room but I;m sure you'll cope.

I just thought it was all nonsense headlines to sell rags until the shite went down a couple of weeks ago. Will have to read New Ideas and Woman's Days from now on.

Because she is sharing the journey with other people rather than using a seperate private jet, that's all. It's reducing the overall carbon footprint but I didn't word it that clearly perhaps. Or better still drive or do a Bowie and get the train! If I was rich I'd much rather spend a relaxed few hours on a nice train with a Viz and some decent grub. At least Greta gets in a fucking boat lol

Oh I don’t like her but she can be entertaining. People seem to dislike her as a person that's why I posted it (also cos we all know Burchill and cos I don't think she's racist). Maybe, just maybe, people think she's just a bit of a twat, you know? I mean if you can say maybe there is some racism behind some of this there then surely we can also say, maybe, that plenty people just don't seem to like her. Given there's a group of people who have met her and had some kind of relationship and been critical of her after she has "ghosted" them (I had to look that up to) then maybe there's something in that too, you know?
I’ll be sure to post summat from the Canary next time.

But continuingly mocking the likes of Ash Sarkar, while seemingly happy to indulge extreme, reactionary figures like Burchill or Spiked is a bit worrying. I mean do you really want to go down that road?
I don't read the Canary ( in fact have never heard of it) but I presume it's some kind of left wing publication. You can be critical of the left surely without climbing into bed with the most reactionary parts of the right wing media.
