One of the oddest bands ever.
I don't mind parts of Glass House but the dudes voice is a deal breaker. Too mimsy.
This is so silly it's sorta likeable and almost heroic in its daftness. Like somebody at a gig just dancing like an utter buffoon but not giving one iota of a shit. You can;t imagine groupies were beating a path to their door.

top 10 album of 72. Sure they are an acquired taste(hello they even named their album), could do without the soloing (prefer the jam of all of them playing off each other) and have to be in the mood for them. Otherwise, they are an amazing band and saw them a few times in the mid 70's was always impressed by their unique sound. After all that is what I"m always looking for something good and original. Did Shulman a little awkward live maybe but the rest of the band seemed totally into the music.
I'll gladly, take GG vocals over so much crappy vocalists the past 30 years..

I love "Octopus" & listen to it all the time! I think it's a terrific album!
I FAR prefer the Charles E. White III cover that Columbia used. that's the cover I'm used to.

I almost said the same about the US cover. The LP version was a die-cut around the jar and lid, too. Fun stuff!

I've always been intrigued by GG after meeting Larry Heard (who pretty much invented house music) and he told me he listened to them all the time.
I could listen to that again, but I'm not in any hurry to.

Acquiring The Taste might be a better album, actually. I think that's my favorite by a nose. But they had six albums that are all pretty much equally excellent (ATT, TF, O, IAGH, TPATG, FH).
