Not yet but at those prices it would be hard to resist. A Balkans trip sounds very cool. Bucharest looks beautiful

So June 21 delayed.
Thoughts on this? I'm not hugely bothered myself- I guess the Govt is being "sensible" in some respects, but we seem to be veering into nanny state territory I think too..what's the chance that it will be delayed again?

I don't think of it as 'nanny state' at all. It's sensible, it's logical, BJ is doing the right thing, dare I say...
It doesn't really bother me, and more importantly it's likely to save lives. And I don't think there'll be any further delays after July 19th.

Think we should do all we can to protect people myself. There are still lots of deaths.

It is. Interesting that the only dissent on this decision was from his own backbenchers - Labour were right behind him.

If the "nanny state" had put India on the red list when it should've the delays frustrating everybody now probably wouldn't have been needed.

There's obviously a risk here or he wouldn't be doing it.

Hospitals are still struggling for capacity, btw, I know of one hospital in the region that currently has a queue of over 20 ambulances with people awaiting treatment, just waiting in line outside. Which also reduces emergency capacity. A lot of this seems to be as a result of 'long covid', there are people with continued serious respiratory and other issues. I guess the question is whether a lockdown will help resolve the capacity problems, whether due to mass immunisation there's a likelihood of increased hospitalisation figures due to the immediate effect of covid.

Greetings from Sunny California - mixed message capital of the world.
I wear my mask around my chin these days. it seems a sound compromise. when somebody who wants to make sure I can't sue them points at me - I pull it up. when somebody not wearing a mask puffs out their chest like they are going to kick my ass. I pull it down.
I need to look into some sort of ergonomic wrist protector thingy.
