That happened a while back.
And not a moment too soon.
Hope he suffered in that jail.

Just over a year since I got Covid.
I was properly tested etc although I will say I have never had flu before but I have been told that the flu isn't quite as bad.
It was not a pleasant experience, worse still I was the first person to officially get it in my work so they were kind of off with me due to my absence and the general problems having someone contract the virus causes in the workplace....
(I'm actually off sick again on an unrelated matter-not physical)
There was a picture of me the night before I got tested and my shirt is soaked with sweat, that was a big symptom... It was actually horrible waking up in the bed soaked with cold slimy sweat, it didn't feel like it belonged to me. I remember watching the Last Dance with Jordan and he played a game while suffering from flu made me feel even worse.
Then there was the loss of smell and taste; at one point the smell of fish made me nauseous which freaked me out because just before my mum died she kept feeling sick with the smell of food and we had to close all the kitchen whenever we cooked.
I hear a lot of people talking about the cough or chest but that wasn't the worst for me but when I did cough they were deep chesty coughs and I would get lightheaded after a fit. Actually writing this makes me realise how easily it could kill a vulnerable person but I guess that could be said for lots of viruses....
Once the symptoms passed it took me another week before I could walk for a reasonable distance and then after that it was back to work for the Xmas rush.
What a time it's been.....

That happened a while back. And not a moment too soon. Hope he suffered in that jail. Too right. And I was swayed by the dateline on the article (now says "2 hours ago"). Hadn't read the whole thing. Thanks. And your story doesn't sound like fun at all. Hope all is on the mend with the latest issue.

Sad, but funny, Reddit has a group called Herman Cain Award on anti-vaxxers or deniers who get sick.

WSJ:
Merck MRK 8.37% & Co. and its partner Ridgeback Biotherapeutics LP said their experimental Covid-19 pill helped prevent high-risk people early in the course of the disease in a pivotal study from becoming seriously ill and dying, a big step toward providing the pandemic’s first easy-to-use, at-home treatment.
The pill cut the risk of hospitalization or death in study subjects with mild to moderate Covid-19 by about 50%, the companies said Friday.
The drug, called molnupiravir, was performing so well in its late-stage trial that Merck and Ridgeback said they stopped enrolling subjects after discussions with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
The results put molnupiravir on track potentially to be authorized by the end of the year and to finally provide an option for doctors who have spent the pandemic seeking a drug that infected people could easily take at home to prevent them from becoming hospitalized.

They're saying his immune system was weakened by cancer treatments, but anti-vaxxers are having a field day with the news.

as a side note. I heard CNN mentioning how he lied to the UN about Iraq. they failed to mention how CNN reported those lies as facts.
funny how that works.

As Republicans go - Lies and all, I doubt we'll see another Colin Powell for a while. Despite the mendacity of the Administrations he served, he had more than a whiff of decency about him.
and he could TALK, you know? he would think before he talked. you could see him thinking and then hear him talking. a relic of another era.
RIP

The science now is that you can't catch Covid from your workmates if you all are "convivial"

I heard on local news this morning that doctors are saying Oregon could reach herd immunity by the end of December. I guess that is a little bit of population leveling due to death and vaccination?
