He could have dementia or something. OR he could be a huge asshole that fills stadiums with people who love him because he’s a huge asshole. I think it could go either way. Exactly. I think he's been touting the stock market as "the economy" for so long that the coronavirus takes a hit on that. And then his son tweets about buying stocks in down market. It makes you wonder if he's sick. I think he's sick - sick in his self-centeredness and fear of being found out. He only cares about himself and finds fault in everything and everyone. He's a perennial victim and never takes responsibility for anything. He can't do it. It would crumble his whole facade.

So - has anyone made any changes in their lifestyles since this thing became more serious? Any stockpiling? Cancelled travel plans? Working more from home (or planning to)?
I'm seriously thinking of cancelling my holiday and not going to Italy this Saturday. Easyjet have cancelled my return flight and I rescheduled for the following day, but the outward flight is still on. I still think the media are probably responsible for escalating unnecessary panic in this country, but of course caution is wise.

I've been sick for 3 days - started with a sore throat, went to general fluish symptoms, feel a little better now but still got the sore throat and runny nose. Everything i just said is a symptom of the coronavirus. But it's also the symptoms to a lot of other shit, and I haven't been anywhere someone who has gone OS lately. So imagine how much of a lunatic I'd have felt like if I went to my local GP 50kms out from the Sydney CBD to get tested for coronavirus. So I didn't go, and imagine how many other people must be thinking the same as me.

So I didn't go, and imagine how many other people must be thinking the same as me. There was a really good article on the BBC "Coronavirus: what are the chances of dying" www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-51674743?fbclid=IwAR0XKR4p6rOQaJrjeSrY3EHmH9C5amPy96WVvi6h1K4eDjSDS-H2lIIl-XkWhich goes into the fact that there is a liklihood of much less severe forms of the virus, that people would not think to go to their doctor for and will resolve spontaneously. So the very severe forms that cause death will give skewed statistics. NOT saying you have Coronavirus, but it is a problem in terms of containment etc. Hope you do feel better. Coronavirus or not, colds and flu can feel awful.

Not because I'd be afraid of getting sick, but there are a lot more regulations. I have a friend who had booked a special holiday (and holidays can be VERY rare as a doctor) with fancy hotels and everything in Italy. And now is worried that they won't let her back to work when she comes back, and worse will question her probity if she decides to go. I think I would still go, but then when SARS was all over Hong Kong, my friends and I thought it was the best of all times, because the city was so empty! Funnily enough, our builders have been complaining about this whole thing, because they can't get face masks for their work. They're all sold out!

I was having lunch on Thursday when I started to feel very blocked up, by the time I got home it was a full on cold. Saturday my chest was so tight with phlegm that I could hardly breathe and couldn't move. At this point I was beginning to inwardly panic a bit and wondered if I could have something more serious. I've been looking to see ifwe're anyreportedcasese from my area. Anyway I,m feeling a lot better today and will probably be back to normal tomorrow. It looks as if I just had a very heavy cold, a particularly nasty one that knocked me out for two or three days and came on incredibly quickly, but a cold nonetheless. And that's the problem isn't it ? How do you differentiate this thing from the normal colds and flu that are moving around? I mean I saw a news report ona couple from the UK who thought they had it and were off to the Hospital. They didn't seem so bad to me, well enough to drive a car, something I would have been too unwell to do over the weekend. Apologies for all the errors etc. Having to do this on a tablet which keeps changing what I write into goobledygook* o

I went to the supermarket last night to stock up on basics, and the shelves were noticeably more empty than usual. The cashier was really friendly so I asked her if it seemed as though people were "panic buying" and she said that that was definitely the case.
I dunno, I was a bit worried about it a week or two ago but not so much any more. I walk to work, so don't have to worry about crowded streetcars or subways, and keep mostly to myself throughout the day at work. If a cold is going around the office, there's a good chance I'll catch it, but what're you going to do? Like I said a while back, post-SARS Toronto seems a bit better prepared to handle any sort of outbreaks, so I'm not going to worry about it any more.

Funny tweet about people with Coronavirus:
People with flu: I feel shit. Just wanna stay in bed and do nothing
People with Coronavirus: I feel shit. Just wanna go on holidays, see the world, maybe go skiing in Austria, see the Eiffel Tower, maybe some white water rafting, do the Camino de Santiago..

Reports seem to be indicating that the outbreak is far worse in Iran than is being acknowledged by the government.

I still don't know whether to go to Italy or stay in Scotland. Neither country is exactly 'low risk' right now.
I suppose in these situations people want others to make the decisions for them. But of course that's not realistic.
