No, but I don't think that would make any difference.
It's not so much the risk as the slight stress, you know? Queueing at the airport, being next to someone on the plane, getting on the train in Milan - worried all the time when someone's talking too close. Or coughing.
I dunno.

In a way it’s the best time to visit!
Imagine how empty Venice is.

Venice, Milan, pretty much dead.
Florence isn't as affected - it's not in the 'red zone'. But I imagine the Uffizi will be pretty quiet right now.

The other thing you need to consider is how the authorities or your future or current employer will react to it. What if they say you'll have to self-isolate for six weeks? What if they don't let you back in the country and you find yourself stranded in Italy? It's probably the unpredictability of that factor rather than the risk ( which still remains very low) that would put me off.

Yes.
AND...if I catch this fucking thing I'm more likely to die at 52 and (probably) with at least one of the health conditions mentioned in their list.
It's probably not worth it. I'll try again in June. Or September.

last night the only bottled water that hadn't flown off the supermarket shelves was "flavored" water & ridiculously overpriced FIJI water.

Don't blame me when "The Man" locks you up on a cruise ship!

Cancelled my holiday, no refunds. Ah well.
What's probably worse is that it's looking like the pre-sessional teaching work I had arranged for summer isn't going to be happening - even though contracts have been issued. The Chinese students aren't coming over, and most of their universities are delaying the start of the academic year until January. They don't trust us, either, to keep the spread of this thing down.
Fucking shit altogether, then.

The loo roll thing does seem to be an issue.
I've been pondering the ramifications of it all recently. We live in a risk averse culture where people like to blame the state for general woes.
We live in a democracy where coercion is very difficult. There is very little I believe that the government can realistically do to contain the spread of the virus.
The economy needs to function and people need to make decisions themselves about what to do to lessen the chance of infection. It will be interesting to see what happens as this pans out. A government could fall because of it, maybe not here but elsewhere.

Perhaps we can find a good reason to send Preti Patel on a cruise ship to Wuhan.

A government could fall because of it, maybe not here but elsewhere. I get the sense that people here are doing relatively well in containing the spread. The fact that the news has been full of this fucking story and little else for a couple of weeks now means that every single person has to be fully aware of what's going on - and more importantly, what they have to do - and you can see that in the small number of cases (and just two deaths) so far. People are stupid and they are selfish but they're also cautious and they're worried.
