A's a good groove, and Taylor always keeps things moving, but there's just not much there there - take me to the bridge already!
Not that there's that much more actual song to B, but it's a masterclass in production and manages to pack a lot more variation in a much shorter amount of time.

Both good, kinda classy picks. But nothing stellar, really.
B sounds just a little nicer to me right now.

I sort of agree with Hatz, but came to the opposite conclusion. I thought there was more going on in A with the vocal and brass, but both tracks suffer from being slightly generic and not having much of a song. A packs the bigger punch however.

I like both a good deal, but Johnny takes it for me. A.

Well, this is the grouping that gives me most fear, I reckon I'm going to struggle to find much to hang on to here. A's got a competent kind of impetus to it, but the vocal line is almost entirely pointless, and the song doesn't feel like it goes anywhere. Just takes the component parts of this kind of thing, assembles something, wanders off aimlessly.
Ashford and Simpson! I reckon I only know "Solid" by them two, which probably shows how distant from this stuff I am. Again, it's very generic, but more effort seems to have gone into assemblng some kind of song, and it pisses off before it can really get boring.

A is more up my street. Nice groove (even if it does seem to riff on There Was A Time), good pick

I like B, a fine tune that i can't diss at all really, but it just doesn't talk to me like JT doing 'Jody' at the height of his 70s Stax street hustler phase. That live album is a killer.

A is great! It has great call-and-response vocals and excellent horns. Like all great things it takes a little time to happen - about ninety seconds in this case. B – look at those impeccable credentials all over the label. But it’s kind of underwhelming in the end.

A, I guess, although it would've been more fun to hear Morris Day & The Time doing a version of it.

Listening to B after A made it sound way too timid. I vote A.
