Egg whisk.
Coan would actually love it if you started that thread, it'd get more action than a Triple J thread. I just say embrace it, at least you're getting some discussion, even if the reaction is akin to if you'd stuck some happy hardcore on the jukebox in the middle of dominoes night. I mean, fonz takes part in these things all the time, and his picks are always slaughtered, never going to stand a chance round here. Don't let the bastards grind you down, just post more of it.

Woah, me and Hatz definitely in sync for once!
Btw, I watched Toronto Wolfpack last night in the pub. Started off well, but got dismantled by the end.

The persistant criticism of my theme is making my kind of regret doing this tbh. Like DF said in one of the ties, everyone reaches back to the same era. I mean heaven forbid there is a theme revolving around music from the last 20 years. If Preludin is meant to be less of a music board and more of a sixties nostalgia station just send me the memo next time. I actually appreciate your theme as far as the time frame is concerned..Just wasn't a fan of the first tie content..

They're definitely lacking a few players but they'll find their way. I just hope they succeed, even if they find their first win against my Hull KR (which judging by the way Leeds gave them the egg whisk this morning is a certainty). Actually sticking slightly off topoc for the moment, Harv might not like my theme, but he'd certainly enjoy a Wolfpack game once they get back to Lamport Stadium

Oh I'm not taking it personally, (except what Coan said, that seemed pointedly personal) It wasn't meant to be personal in ANY WAY at all! I didn't expect you, of all people, would be annoyed by a daft throwaway comment. I'm genuinely sorry if it seemed that way. Like D_F says, we exaggerate our feelings just for a lark, especially in these contests. Mind, that's a shocking list, Brendan.

For what it's worth your theme was one of my favourites because it's forced people out of their comfort zones and I think it'll be really interesting to see what's picked. Expect some negative comments though because anything 'contemporary' that's pop ( as opposed to something consciously underground/alternative) always gets more stick than other genres/periods.

It was the "we" comment you made, I was all "who the fuck are "we" meant to be?" and I felt a bit alienated for a little bit, but I got over it. I don't mind getting called out for picking shit songs - it's a Cup, everyone picks shit songs it seems! - but when you said it's not what WE listen to, yeah as I said it upset me a bit but I'm fine now.

It’s not far from my home, actually - in fact I just passed by it about an hour ago. I take it they’re a rugby team? I’m starting to have a vague understanding of the sport so maybe I’ll go check ‘em out some day. *edit* I think your theme is hilarious to be honest! I just hard a hard time finding something I actually liked!

You see my original idea was to pick all the obvious ones to push everyone even harder but i thought that was a bit cruel on my part but I think judging by the first one of my home ties I'll enjoy all my opponents picks, because in the end there's plenty of good songs in there, as there should be in a 2100 song list!

I was disappointed not to get you in a tie, Heifer, as the list was nostalgic for me. A lot of stuff from when I was first discovering pop music.
My home tie in this round was partly an attempt to play to the crowd. After the first three votes I thought that I might as well have chosen a Throbbing Gristle track.

Throbbing Gristle might have been a welcome sight..The beginning of this "Cup" has been tough sledding

Suddenly swamped with things to do: Round Four, which should have gone up yesterday, will now be posted tomorrow, as suddenly a lot of competition for my time.
I have also extended the deadline on Round Three, quite arbitrarily, as I'm hoping some other votes might turn up.

I will be voting on Round 3 over the weekend.
Thanks Ray!
