When did this become the Johnnie Taylor cup? Anyway, B, though bless A for his consistency.

Nothing all that special about B, but A just seems hollow to me..Vote B

It's rare that there's such a big gap, it made this choice one of the easiest yet. Sorry A.

Surely night is a temporal designation rather than a meteorological condition? Anyway, it's an indisputable fact that any band with 'project' in their name is likely to be muso bollox.Hated this one. B is southern soul at its most basic, but that,s not a bad thing at all. This had a breezy, effortless quality to it and I liked it a lot.

I know I've probably said it before, but I have a Strapping Young Lad tune I really liked on a compilation somewhere, proper in-your-face heavy it was, like an early Pitchschifter or something, nothing like the kinda placid hard rock Devin's doing here. Might've been a Mick Harris remix though, having said that. Strange stage setup they've got going on, it looks far too spartan for the size of venue they appear to be playing, you just expect the band to be closer, or there to be stacks of speakers around or lights, or something.
Voting for A anyway, if just because I'm sick of B's kinda thing already.

I found B poor and half cooked. A had a good chance of winning here, if I had not played it.

A is about rain, by the sound of it. It’s pretty good.

That little whiney synth sound in A had me grinding my teeth after 2 minutes; a shame, because otherwise the rock riffing was ok, nothing spectacular but decent Teflon middle-of-the-road contemporary rock. LJT had better tunes for mine, but this one is still enjoyable in its way and does enough to win.

Just a personal thing, but a live performance or clip from a movie is very unlikely to find favour with me over most records. So, even though B is a pretty undistinguished piece of R&B to my ears (although a couple of nice notes of guitar just before it ended too soon), it wins here. Bit of a limp tie, though, as far as my tastes go.
