Sometimes I wish that I hadn't been into pissy Indie as a kid and instead had been some numbnutz rock kid wearing denim and freaking out to Van Halen. It looks like they had a lot more FUN!

I like ZZ Top up through Eliminator and then dropped off. All the albums sound the same after that.
Tejas, the album before Eliminator was kinda weak so I wonder if that had anything to do with them changing it up a bit.
Of course, the DLR years were great. I remember walking into my high school parking lot every morning and the gearheads would always blast Running With the Devil or Eruption from their car stereos so everyone could hear it. Kinda made the start of each morning passable.
Reading BCBers' and Preludiners' posts about high school make me think how vastly different American and English education systems were, culturally. Picture Ridgemont High as mine, except a couple years earlier - more Dazed and Confused, but w/o all that Texas hazing and macho crap.
Hard rock bands tend to change sounds like this, especially after punk and new wave happened for various reasons. Van Halen was fucking boring with Sammy Hagar, ZZ Top changed their whole sound around and AC/DC got that lame ass Brian Johnson to sing with them after Bon Scott died.

When I was 10 my prize possession was one of those white t-shirts with the black 3/4-length sleeves with a big Van Halen logo on the front that I got my grandfather to get me at one of those mall kiosks that did iron-on transfers. Fuck (I thought), I was cool.

I could do without the host guy's input, but I could listen to Billy reminisce and tell stories for ages...

if elected, I will see that all supermarket music is replaced with an endless loop of Billy Gibbon's guitar solos - no songs, just his solos.
for a while, anyway.
