I was ready to lay into A, but it grew on me. A bit. When the vocal entered it reminded me very much of 'Everything Counts' by the dreadful Depeche Mode. Hatz'll love it - it features synths not trying to sound like not-synths!
Another Lothar pick! and it's a fine one, again. Unlike A they've actually gone for chord changes and not just turned on a couple of fucking machines
An easy choice
B

I'm pretty aligned with what JC is saying above - I certainly didn't dislike A, and it does have the 'synths not trying to be anything else' thing, but like he also points out, it's pretty much 'push the button then dance around' - there's not much song there.
B is, once again, playful. More playful and more musical than A, I'd say.

I didn't get into Front 242 too much back in the day ( I kind of thought of them as a bit of a DAF rip off, probably rather unfairly). This took a while to get going but the track's sheer relentlesness is its greatest strength. The power of those bass synths really starts to hit home as the track builds - invigorating! I quite enjoyed B. It had a quirky quality like The Monkees recorded at the bottom of the ocean. The electronic elements seemed more like psychedelic sound affects rather than something that was integral to the track, so I've got reservations how well it fits the category.

B is wretched psyche that skope would've raved about, and has no purpose being in this tie. Terrible choice, and another dreary addition to the sludge of nursing home favourites that are making this cup thing a chore. At least if you don't like A, you can enjoy Jean Luc de Meyer's terrible dancing. Sorry about the fight noises, those aren't on the proper track, but if I hadn't picked this video, the dancing couldn't have been appreciated

I reckon you talk about nursing home favourites when dealing with anything before your teens, but I have the feeling that you're not so far now. Anyway A is a clear winner here. I often complain about tracks bring unnecessarily long, here's an example where five minutes are justified. B is pants. A

It kind of reminds me of someone who likes 17th century art saying to someone who likes art from the 16th century "My tastes are so much more modern than yours". It's all a bit silly!

I'm not in any way arguing that my taste is better, or that modern is better. Just that everything chosen is so stuck in such a small era, and to cram yet another psyche rock thing into a synthpop category, and then have people vote positively for it, basically on the grounds that it's not synthpop...

To be fair you do have a point there. It's a bit like saying " My favourite reggae track is Donna Summer ' I feel Love" because it doesn't sound like reggae"

I mean I do know I sound like an annoying cock sometimes, but I genuinely don't mean any offence to anyone. I just prefer variety of sounds, eras and styles, even if it's stuff I don't like.

This was before my teens, actually, albeit stuff I may have listened to in my late-teens, and still do regularly. I've overdone the nursing-home references, I know, but there's a lot of stuff that reminds me of dull Sunday afternoons and radio 2 when I was a kid, and I find it quite miserable to listen to. Personal opinion/experience, that's all. I don't know if I hold too much in high regard that was out when I was a teenager, late 80s/early 90s wasn't that hot other than for industrial rock stuff, but there's plenty before and after that I love.

B sounded like a 60s TV ad song or something; fine in its way but not what i was looking for here. A goes on a bit too long and the singer's dancing started to get embarrassing, but the tune was good dancey synthpop.
