B treads a fine line between 'fun' and 'annoying'. I can't vote for it, sorry.
The Coasters were great.

I like B a lot, actually - the studio experiment that resulted in the Chipmunks franchise which (yes, I'll admit it) has given me lots of pleasure over the years. The X-mas album is a staple of my childhood.
That said, A are the rightfully acknowledged masters of this sort of thing, and this is one of their best. Sorry, Alvin.

I can't be arsed with either really. This is the weakest thing from the generally excellent Coasters I've heard. I found it oddly tuneless. B was fine until the chipmunks chipped in. It's the kind of thing that always gets praise on here but really it's just the fifties version of The Smurfs isn't it and you don't get people saying 'Ooooh Father Abraham'.

Didn't any of you listen to Dr. Demento as children ? Vote A, because I'm NOT voting for the freakin' chipmunks

Funny, I had only heard The Witch Doctor in Spanish before, a cover done by a terrible Cuban combo called Los Llopis (no, no need to check it) and I found this original quite pleasing. Not enough to beat the mighty Coasters, mind.

Ok, I guess this is going to be a trial, because A is awful from the start, and B is The Chipmunks. Is A novelty because of the chipmunks at the end? Poor.
B's more fun, and seems more like a novelty track, and even just a better track.

If B was something from the Chipmunk Punk album - which i got when i was 10 years old and includes THE definitive version of Billy Joel's 'You May Be Right' - this may have been a bit closer, but A would have still been the better song and get my vote. What exactly is a novelty song? I'm not sure, but A is a gem.

“Little Egypt” is an American Classic like Ansel Adams or Ovaltine. “The Witch Doctor”, however, is the greatest song in the history of the world
Sing it out loud when you are in public. I promise someone will walk up to you and give you a dollar. B

A – You can’t go wrong with the Coasters. I thought Ying and Yang were the songwriters at first! B – 34 seconds

A is fun. Even if it is a song about a stripper.
Nuff said.
