I never knew RDMH was a 'murder song'! I love it tho.
(AS I type this I realise it's actually my own selection. It Phil Spector. That's the link. fucking tenuous or what?! Hatz will go mental)
I love Strange Fruit too. A powerful song.
But it's RDMH that makes me want to get up and go, so B it is.

Always felt the wall of sound technique did a disservice to the song and that live versions were superior..A is a powerful track and it's actually about murders so, Vote A

Both great tracks, but A fits the subject better and is a *touch* less BCB-friendly (being older).
Prediction correct (though I rarely "go mental" unless there's real Gashian weirdness going on).

Fuck it, I'll see if I can get through a couple of rounds without getting depressed. At least I don't have to spend much time listening to these, neither choice exactly stretching themselves in search of an obscurity. However A fits the theme with bold and vivid imagery, and a suitable austere sound. B's a good song, but nowhere near the theme. Soz fonz.

A's a hugely powerful track. It's beyond music these days really. I find it odd that B had to find such a tenuous connection for this one, but at least it's a break from all the doom metal, for which I'm grateful.

There are not many songs that could beat B in my book, and A is one of them. A could be penalized for not using the superior original Commodore recording, but then B is using an editted version with one verse missing (could be the price for showing Tina on video, so no complains). Things get so levelled that I have to use the out-of-the-theme card A it is.

Nowt wrong with B, but it's A, for all the reasons stated above

Someone is really enjoying the "as tenuous a link as possible" game. A

B almost gets it for such a cheeky pick.

Two songs I've owned for more than half a century, and played lots, so much so that I don't have to listen to either. Leaving aside fonz's tenuousophilia (which ain't a word, but should be), and the fact that RDMH's status as one of the greatest-ever Spector productions lasted only until INNMTT came along to blow it away, I would have had to give it the nod - EXCEPT that he didn't choose the full single version, because the edit destroys the dynamics that are at the core of its appeal. The sound is wrong on that video, too.
A it is, then

OUCH. I'll pull the bandage off really fast so it doesn't hurt as much. B
A is so much more important but I've loved the other so long that I simply can't vote against it.
