B is just my kind of thing. A would be if it were a little more special rather than a pleasant period piece.

Really liked both of these.
I'm giving my vote to
A
because I'm sick of people calling top-hole groovy songs 'pleasant' or 'average' or 'underwhelming' or some such, when they're anything but. Take THAT, Dave Hatz!

I can't believe I've agreed with Hatz twice in this round.

Given A has exhuberent harmonies, a great groove featuring cowbell and is spilling over with melody, I expect this to be slagged off something rotten. But picker A ignore them because for me this is the pick of the round. It has that bright, unpretentious quality of really good early 70s pop. It sounds like Crosby, Stills and Nash transplanted to a Working Man's club in Yorkshire. Great! B is a bit of a crusty old museum piece. It's okay but sounds like a lot of other stuff.

Gah, there's appeal and off-putting in both of these again.
Despite liking the Staple Singers (they have soul - there's the difference), I have an innate aversion to religious proselytizing. A isn't really about that whereas B's pretty much saying that God will pay off your mortgage. A has a lot of loveliness but is dated again (oh fantastic if you've loved it a long time it puts off my fresh ears) whereas B's style is classic.
I've played B through once then checked in a few times. I've played A few times. Do I like it? I think I do. Can I get over the dated or the lyrics? No.
Abstain.

Great match. Both really enjoyable for me, hitting different pleasure zones but no less directly. I'm giving it to A for the cowbell.

Christ, Bloody hell, I knew from the comments above that I'd hate A, fucking awful with that cloying awful 70s production chorus thing. Donny Osmond kinda hateful.
B is a pretty generic blues stomp. So it easly does enough here.

Not terribly moved by A, but it clearly wins here. I might change my vote if coronavirus pandemic disappears tomorrow, cause I need it.

A is OK but I fucking love B and have chosen it myself in the past. It rocks and reels like nobody’s business.

A is pleasant pop with a nice guitar sound and only a hint of proggery
B isn't as good as I hoped it would be, not so much gospel as church blues. I love gospel, not because of the sentiments expressed in the words - lord knows, as I'm sure I must have mentioned, I never know what the words are anyway – but because of the souldfulness of the voices and its ability to express and provoke sheer existential joy. But this is more Jimmy Reed than Rosetta, and I tired of him in my time-misted teens.
A surprise to me, because cowbell, and it's from an era and in a style that's way down my list of worthwhileness, but A
