Binging it, now on season 3. Enjoying it, though it got a slow start. Catherine O'Hara is brilliant, of course. But I really like the whole cast.
Looking forward to what's coming up. No spoilers, but is anyone else watching? What do you think?

Sight unseen, I bought my wife tickets to go see them in person as a Christmas gift in 2018 (I think the appearance was in January or February 2019 - I know it was bitter cold). I figured any opportunity to see Catherine O Hara in person was not to be missed.
So, we started watching immediately, to see what we'd gotten ourselves into.
I think we managed to burn through the first four seasons in something like two weeks. We got hooked (agreed about the slow start, but...they more than make up for it, as you know), and then had to wait patiently for Seas. 5 (also great) and are now waiting for Seas. 6.
I don't think there's a wasted element there. Every character (especially some of the minor ones), every plotline - it's all pretty valuable in the big picture.
I'll be sorry when it's over.

I love it. Am watching season 5. It's funny of course, and at times touching. I sometimes catch myself doing the odd Schitt's creek mannerism, so I guess they've seeped in.
Here's a compilation of Alexa saying "David!"

I think it's terrific. I stalled out in the first season but only because there aren't enough hours in the day. everybody says it gets better as it goes along so that whets my appetite.
part of the problem is the person I enjoy watching it with enjoyed one episode so much that we had to watch it several times before moving on. (Catherine O'Hara googles herself and gives local teenagers an "acting class"). I must say it stood up to repeated viewings. O'Hara's specific skill set is perfect for that character. Nobody does crazy white ladies better.

The elongated vowels are a hilarious affectation. Then there's all the wardrobe ridiculousness. Wigs! Increasingly more ridiculous outfits! The actors all had a lot of fun making this.
I'm also wondering, since it's such a family affair, how much the characters are from the Larry David school of "exaggerated versions of the actors' own personalities."
I suspect a lot, at least in the relationship between father and son.

A fair range of folks finding this enjoyable - a good sign. I might give it a go.

I did find myself thinking "when does this start to become funny?" for some of the first season. A lot of it's to set up the characters and introduce their (numerous, often absurd) quirks. It starts out subtle but increasingly becomes less so, just by way of warning.
Curious to know what people think as they get into it.

My daughter turned me onto it and I've been watching it most of last week and this. Yes, it reminds you why Catherine O'Hara is so good and it's nice to see Chris Elliott again.

Some of the throwaway lines are great.

Levy and O'Hara have a long history of a quirky, character driven humor. it's not for everybody. or is it? I think this show, like those Chris Guest movies might be drumming up a lot of support for this sort of thing.

Not until the other day.

In my mid 20s my roomate and friend Al, had recorded lots of SCTV episodes, which we watched a lot. O'Hara as Lola Heartherton (Joey Heatherington) was one of my favorite characters.
Andrea Martin was really good too.

One of my favorite shows ever. In fact I'm presently reading a book Dave Thomas wrote about it.
I know loveless and I, at least, had crushes on O'Hara back in the day.
