Yeah, these songs and the weird concert thing are being made because, well, people want to feel good, and nothing does that as easy as happy nostalgia. It's like the 50s revival in the 1970s; Happy Days and Grease were huge because they expertly tapped into feel-good memories during a time was quite hard and confronting.
As to the new songs, they are pretty bland, but those voices together will always be special.

As to the new songs, they are pretty bland, but those voices together will always be special. I think for modern audiences Abba have that old fashioned showbizzy good time appeal, as do Queen who are probably the only old band to rival them in modern day affections. Both bands have strengthened their appeal through stage musicals and films which is the way to reach modern audiences.
