Wondering how excited to be about the upcoming box set. It's not like the last two where there's new, unheard material. I mean, maybe there's something new and exciting there, but it seems to me a lot of the outtakes are just short snippets of songs. Any full performances we've either heard, or heard something with very minute differences.
As I work for the parent company, I imagine I'll be offered some kind of discount on the thing (though not sure how that'll be affected by not being in the office).
There are some tracks officially released already - the '21 mixes (Across the Universe and Let it Be) certainly sound better than the ones for Abbey Road to my ears.
But yeah - "Get Back" take 52, not terribly distinguishable from take 48? Not terribly interested. I mean, I got the goggles, but even I'm not that much of a trainspotter.
Anyone heading right for the super deluxe? Fill us in in a couple weeks if so.

From the track listings the 5cds could have easily been reduced to a 2-3cd set. I do prefer the Glyn Johns' production. I'll probably wait for prices to drop. There were two issues of 8cds(?) set from Vigotone of these sessions, i would have thought there would be more to flesh things out. www.discogs.com/The-Beatles-The-Get-Back-Journals/release/4360649

The ideal for me would probably be a 3-CD set - one disc '21 remixes, one of the Johns mix in its original form, one of the best of the outtakes/studio jams.
But of course we know how this works - gotta pay the big bucks to get the Johns mix.
The movie release date is set for the last weekend in November, isn't it? Thought that was a done deal.
Also, I think the book is set for October 12th. We haven't talked about that. Anyone excited about it? I figure it'll be on the Christmas list. Something else that'll be nice, but I feel no need to rush into.

I thought I'd said it here before, but the decision to leave off the rooftop performance is to me a bewildering one.

Don't Let Me Down is a right pile of crap really, although it is redeemed somewhat by Billy's playing.

What is Peter Jackson's preoccupation with making three-part films?
