Thing that always impressed me was on the 3/6 cd Specialty sets you get to hear him run through multiple takes (1, 2, 6, 9, etc.,) and he nails it over and over full bore.

Thing that always impressed me was on the 3/6 cd Specialty sets you get to hear him run through multiple takes (1, 2, 6, 9, etc.,) and he nails it over and over full bore. True. Sometimes the arrangement isn't quite there yet or whatever, but he's always giving 100%.
One of my (many) favorite things on those sets is the sequence of takes where they're trying to nail down a version of "Good Morning Little School Girl". They eventually give up, but Richard's singing is so thrilling even on these breakdown takes that you can't help but wish that they'd kept at it!
