And yet - something like 80 people dead in the UK under the age of 60 with no existing conditions. Young people think they're invulnerable and will take their chances.

Yeah, but it's not much different than when AIDS reared its ugly head. There were a few times where I felt I may have dodged a bullet because women I knew were using a needle or had been in contact with someone who used a needle. One, I only found about afterwards, and it kinda pissed me off she hadn't let me known. AIDS is different though - you can't catch it unless you have sex with someone, received infected blood or share a needle. That's a significant level of interaction needed. Covid-19 has a mass of vectors on how it is transmitted. I meant more the fear of getting it at the beginning when less was known, but you're right. I was dating age. I don't think you were, unless you were very precocious.

I was a student in 1987 and I remember them sticking leaflets under every dorm door - AIDS WILL DEFINITELY FUCKING KILL YOU. Or similar We were terrified. Maybe it's best to go to those kinds of extremes, rather than say to people 'you might be at risk if you indulge in this kind of behaviour'
