How can you tell I wrote it on my phone? 😜 It says Via Mobile at the top of the post. Obviously, keen observation like mine is not a quality you possess, however.

This, from the new book by Lindsay & Pluckrose, critiquing social justice, strikes me as a correct take on what is happening. Some of this is the standard conservative fear mongering argument, it is important that the points are being made, yet it still doesn't mean the changes do not need to happen. Yes, in times of social upheaval/change extremes of all sides come into play, yet a certain livability will always be found. I am not worried. I say shake it all down, and let's see what remains. The sun will still shine, day will turn into night. We'll be fine. Not all societies and cultures are ready for it, just as we have seen with democracy. The US is ready, it is time. The good ole days were too exclusive.

Conservatives will always point to the existence of protest as a sign of decline. Their pitch is always that we are “moving too fast” and that they will bring back order and calm.
But what they don’t get - what a LOT of folks don’t get - is that order and calm are what happens when minority voices are effectively neutralized. When the oppressed feel too scared to speak out, things are calm and carefree for everyone else. When freedom is more prevalent, minority voices become louder. The push for true equality becomes harder to ignore.
In that sense, we are living in a time of great progress. But we cannot listen to those whose goal it is to go back. Who simply pine for the ability to not see and hear things that make them uncomfortable. True equality isn’t always comfortable.

I've not watched the original clip
There is something rather ghoulish about these things.

yeah, I can't bring myself to do it. sometimes I'll watch just enough to see if I think it's being characterized correctly by people talking about it. In all honesty, I have trouble even watching that much.
but then, I can't really watch those "Funniest Home Video" type things. Hell, I have trouble with Sideshow Bob and the rake.

The one that was going viral yesterday was one with three Santa Clarita cops holding guns on three or four black 12-13 year olds in front of a Buffalo Wild Wings. Even the store manager was telling the cops that the kids weren't at fault, but the cops still held their weapons. If they'd been white, it would have never happened.
File under: buying wings while black

Yeah they didn't think it through, AT ALL. Unless they only mean US films nominated.

Disney - doesn't want to film in pro-Abortion Georgia but happy to film in Xinjiang where Uighurs are interned in re-education camps.

What the fuck are their bosses saying to them everyday?
