Hardly out of my way. First thing that came up in a Google search. But sure. Ignore it. That’s your privilege right there. Must be the same privilege you have then, you ignored or didn't answer questions on the other thread. The only difference is i didn't take cheap shots to avoid questions by accusing the people that asked them of not wanting to end racism. Also I'm not arrogant to think it's my method or no method to end racism. You answer the questions we asked and I'll answer this.

Also I'm not arrogant to think it's my method or no method to end racism. You answer the questions we asked and I'll answer this. What questions have I failed to answer Markus? I’m certainly not dodging any - so happy to address anything you feel that I’ve missed. As for whether you’d like to end racism - I have no doubt that you’d love to. It clearly bothers you. I have no idea what is in your heart (I’ll presume it to be all good things), but your words always seem to come from a place in which being falsely accused of racism appears to be a bigger problem than racism itself. Whatever your internal feelings may be, your words seldom show much more than cursory empathy for the folks who suffer racism. Undoubtedly you will accuse me of being arrogant for daring to say as much, but I’m fine with that. I’m just being honest about what you put across. Meanwhile - I haven’t put forth a “method” to end racism, and I’ve not really seen one from you. So I’m not sure where that comes from. I’m just another white guy who knows very little about the subject. That’s why I think folks like us would be smart to defer to people of color as much as possible on this.

More bullshit and tangents david. You know fine rightly the questions we asked and you avoided on the other thread.
It doesn't greatly bother me, another over use of an adjective to make us appear like something we're aren't. Like your breathless comment. A while back.
You clearly said along the lines of, it's as if you don't want to end racism. You check back. And again said as much above with being accused of being racist is a bigger issue than the actual racism. More bullshit and shit flinging hoping it sticks. That's the davy way.
Your arrogance is that everyone is wrong but you, accusations of not caring as much about about racism as you, like it's based on a points system.
The method you support is just assume your racist and just deal with it. You know this but suddenly forgot. WE have disagreed with this and you can't answer OUR questions about practicality of it, hence the shit flinging of you care more about this than racism, trying to make us out to be feverishly against it. WE not, we might disagree but I'm positive once we're finished with this board for day, we go our respective ways and don't give this thread or the other one any real other thought.
Right again, I'm out, its 11pm, i have to wash my foreman grill before i go to bed. Dr Markus, living la vida loca.

So much word salad.
No Markus. I don’t believe that I’m right and “everyone else is wrong.” I just believe that YOU are wrong. Let’s just keep it to that.
Nor is assuming the consistent presence of racism a “method” to end racism. It is simply a decent start to begin the process of thinking productively about it.
I still have no idea what questions you believe I’ve dodged. State them again and let me rectify, or shut the fuck up about them.
Sorry if you feel unfairly judged by me. I can only go by your words. Feel free to offer better ones.

Why don't you at least attempt to engage a little with his ideas?

On a side note, I do wonder if this term would be slightly less contentious if it were called "white advantage".

Nonsense to the aggressiveness, I've seen more aggression on the my little pony message board......i mean i was told.

and What shall we call “racism”? You know, to make it less contentious. I've stayed out of the thread because I don't have anything useful to say, but as the soi-disant word guy, It's my belief that the word 'racism' was coined to describe the now wholly discredited scientific theory/belief system (supported not only by nutters like Galton, but also heavyweights such as Darwin) that there was a hierarchy of races/ethnicities/nationalities based on brain size, with the Anglo-Saxons on top, and that the lesser breeds were not only deficient in intelligence but also in moral and physical character compared to Northern Europeans. This was the 'scientific' justification and rationalization for slavery and (the British) Empire, and was the parent of eugenics and Nazism. One can have racial prejudices (conscious or otherwise) without actually subscribing to the conscious systemic beliefs of rac ism and can also benefit from/be unaware of existing in a society in which racist beliefs and/or racial prejudices are built into the structure of society, which is what white privilege is about, as I understand it. I hope that helps hashtag language matters

The push behind this ultimately is the desire to create an equal society. But the first question should be..
What does an equal society look like?

Ultimately, whatever that means, I'd say it's not about creating an equal 'society' (wtm - 'society' isn't unitary, or indeed a thing) so much as raising personal awareness and acceptance of human difference, and promoting general kindness.
