Clear? Yes. Bold? Maybe. What constitutes a 'fact' is an a societal agreement as to what language is agreed to do describe certain phenomena. Sociologists, psychologists, linguists, philosophers, etc. will always have a field day with this. For instance: "I Want To Hold Your Hand" is in the key of G. - fact. But only because we are using the western A-440 scale as an agreed-to cultural definition of key. The first note vibrates at X amount of times per second would also be a fact, but one that only people who understand physics better than I do would be privy to. "I Want to Hold your Hand" was a number one hit - also a fact. But probably meaningless to a tribesman in the Brazilian Rainforest. "I Want to Hold Your Hand" is a great song - also a fact. (Kidding.) I guess one way to put it is that what constitutes fact is the result of a mutual agreement that everyone discussing the matter is using the same system of measurement.

And is that a fact, or opinion?

Good question! I think it might be a theory, which is somewhere in the middle. Based in observation, but without the agreed-to consensus?

Is there a clear line between opinion and fact? Yes, there certainly is. The trick is in the 'can we'. In 99% of the cases the answer would be no and in the remaining 1% we'd be unable to tell.

I don't think its possible, in a perfect world we'd wait to give our opinion after we got all the facts. That rarely happens, and depending on the situation if you were to say that you're waiting for the facts before giving your opinion, you're a cunt. So what do you do?
